So many issues face us. Dan Maymin’s ready to spark debate and bring about change to make our community a better place. Curious how Dan thinks on a particular issue? Dan Maymin is against government spending and against forced redistribution. BLM is the enforcement arm of the Dems. Why are some CT citizens more equal than others?
Campaign Issues: Smaller Government
Has the Government overstepped their boundaries, or not yet? Regulating how much water we can flush down our toilets? Their COVID 19 response? Connecticut’s State Income Tax went from under 4.5% in 1995 to 7.0% in 2015. Has Connecticut benefited from all that extra tax revenue? No. Connecticut needs to reverse trend; Connecticut needs to lead. Despite the COVID 19 response and everyone forgetting about the Constitution, Connecticut needs to go back to the roots of its bare name - the Constitution State - and get back to economic work/(growth)! Incumbent state legislators are the problem. They need to know their job is to SERVE, not COMMAND!
Campaign Issues: More Freedom
If CT business owners aren’t ready to open up, don’t. Please stay safe; make sure your families and businesses are safe. Did residents & business’ of CT’s 147th need the Governor to issue a State of Emergency that continues to this day? Have people been able to go back to work on their own, with counsel from their friends and families? Are communities safe? Or are you happy with Big Government’s intrusiveness, letting us know when it’s safe to go get a haircut?
Campaign Issues: Better Infrastructure
When’s the last time you went on I-95 and were lucky enough to not get construction debris in your windshield or a pebble in your hubcap? Connecticut’s highways are crumbling. The non-stop construction; the endless allocation of new budgets. The lack of transparency and accountability. The unions. Forget about tolls. The conversation needs to be about Connecticut’s budget, mismanagement of efficacy and resources, and incalcuable pensions. Connecticut has the opportunity to become the fastest-turn-around-recovery state in America as times are rough for the near-bankrupt Nutmeg State.
Campaign Issues: CT’s Debt Clock
To compete with adjacent states, Connecticut needs to attract more talent and more businesses. Once the industrial leader, Connecticut is now going down the drain with a bleak outlook. Given the current leadership in Hartford, there is no doubt why Connecticut is doing so poorly. Connecticut should be thriving, and has the capacity to be one of the fastest turn-around states, but only if we enact common sense solutions. Lower taxes, less regulation, less debt. Connecticut has about $55 billion in debt, which is 20% of CT’s GDP; again a statistic that puts Connecticut in the top/(bottom) decile of worst/(best) performing states. We need to reign in on the out of control spending. Connecticut, and specifically Stamford, has mismanaged debt for decades and Maymin is ready to tackle debt reform.
